AISCLI Summer School: World Cultures & Literatures In English

Period: 16 - 21 September 2013 (arrival and departure on Sunday)

 

DESCRIPTION:

From Europe to a variety of World Literatures and Cultures in English. The AISCLI Summer School aims at widening the competence of BA

postgraduate students (also those who wish to become teachers, educators, cultural mediators, translators), doctoral students and PhD holders in the

field of postcolonial theories, literatures and cultures.

This wider perspective on African, Caribbean, Canadian, Pacific and Asiatic artistic and intellectual productions – in the form of poetry, prose, drama,

music, figurative art, architecture and cinema – will be the focus of a series of lectures, seminars and workshops held by academics, who are expert

and have publications in those fields.

 

ATTENDERS:

BA graduate students with a Degree in the Humanities, PhD holders, PhD students and PhD candidates, students graduating by November 2013.

Turin University students can attend the Summer School in lieu of “Tirocinio”. Students of Laurea Specialistica 10 CFU (250 hours) and Laurea

Magistrale 6 CFU (180 hours) are requested to produce a final report on their activities to be supervised by prof. Concilio (Tutor for the University of

Turin). Maximum number of participants: 40.

The Summer School will be activated with a minimum of 15 participants.

 

LOCATION:

All the lectures and seminars will be held at Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures and Modern Cultures – University of Torino (I)- Room:

Sala Lauree – Via Verdi 10, II floor.

 

CERTIFICATION:

At the end of the AISLCI Summer School participants will be awarded a Certificate of Attendance.

 

TUITION FEE:

Admission fee

300 € VAT exempt for individuals or 300€ + VAT (21%) for professionals and companies

For early registration (deadline 5 June 2013) it is possible to book accommodation in single or double rooms at Residence Olimpia (104, Lungo Dora

Siena, Torino). Single room fee: 220,00 € VAT exempt for individual person or 220€ + VAT (21%) for professionals and companies Double room

fee: 142,00 € per person VAT exempt for individual person or 142€ + VAT (21%) for professionals and companies

Preference for single rooms should be indicated while booking. It is obvious that due to the limited number of single rooms available, later bookings

will definitely be allocated to double rooms.
