Shota Rustaveli Institute of Georgian Literature represents the leading research centre dedicated to Georgian and Foreign literary studies. The purpose of the Institute is to promote the study of literary theory and comparative literature and to generate relevant debates through publications and international conferences.

 

The Institute holds an annual international scientific symposium “Contemporary Issues of Literary Criticism” and organizes several other scientific forums

 

Within the boundaries of Shota Rustaveli Institute of Georgian Literature was founded Georgian Comparative Literature Association. It aims to advance the discipline, to facilitate the exchange of ideas and information among scholars and organizations, to promote achievements in the field of humanities in Georgia and abroad through contacts with international organizations.

 

Georgian Comparative Literature Association (GCLA) in collaboration with the Institute of Georgian literature publishes methodological course books and international peer reviewed journals “Sjani” and “Litinfo” concerning literary theory and comparative literature. The submission of articles is open for scholars interested in these fields.

 

Recently, Georgian Comparative Literature Association (GCLA) renewed the partnership with International Comparative Literature Association (ICLA /AICLA).
